Conan and Kogoro discover the body of Tsukuba Corporation president Tsukuba. He died after falling from the roof of a building, and a mysterious message was inside his pocket. When they visit his office to gather information, the employees respond to the message's words, "third time's the charm". Tsukuba was attacked twice over the span of several days. Just as the police decide to investigate the death as a successful attack by the culprit, Tsukuba's aunt shows up and says she received a call suggesting it might be a suicide.
